The 2025 Volkswagen Taos is one of the smallest SUVs we have on our lot, but it’s also an affordable starting place for commuters who want the extra cargo volume of an SUV but don’t want to sacrifice too much fuel economy. The new Taos gets 174 horsepower in 2025, which was an upgrade from 158 horsepower the year prior. While not as significant an upgrade as the prior two SUVs, you can really feel the difference between the two power levels when getting up to speed on the highway.
